Default So I decided to try out this VoIP phone service...

Vonage offered first month free, free phone adapter, and they waived the startup fee. So far so good. There's a little noise on my end, but people I call don't hear it. $25 per month unlimited local and national calls. Pretty good. I just hope it works consistently. Anyone else out there giving VoIP a shot?

I'll try it out.. once this numbness of living in a civilized society passes and my child like interest in gadgets washes over me again... and so i'll be renewed... until the numbness...the searing jadedness comes back again... anyone on here have a yacht? perhaps i'm just too tired of low end toys.

Suddenly I think I've just beached on a crescendo... voip with the PB and EVDO.. would be kick ass... moible internet phone... hehe. Justifiable for cheap international calls.. i can start building my jet set persona.

Acourse since I worked in the VOIP BIZ before I had the chance to work out the bugs. Eventually you will get you static..on the line but most of the time the sound will be clear if you have a good enough sound card. or if your not using that then you can always fuck around with your sound codecs.

Also Dan have you had any cases of dropped calls with Vonage? it comes with the package you know....if your bandwith drops just a notch you will drop calls. But its all good.

Vonage is the VOIP leader at this moment..I love their commercials. their Marketing team is doing a great job of making that company stand out.

The truth is though the VOIP market still has its pros and cons at this moment. Its basically new and you cant expect it to ever replace your regular phone line at this point but give it 10 years or probably 5.

Not yet, but I'm not expecting perfection. I know it's still in its infancy. But with no startup costs for me, I figured it was worth giving it a try.
