anyone watch this?

supposedly it tanked in the ratings, but i enjoyed it. excellent production, the drama and backstory is very well done, you genuinely feel for the contestants. im also a boxing fan, so maybe thats also a reason i liked it. the final fight was good, a lot of action.

perhaps it will fare better when not going up against CSI and getting Apprentice as a lead-in.

i dont know about tank on ratings......it is too soon to decide, the first Apprentice wasnt exactly successful the first time it aired....i think it has potential but for me, it was a little too much drama and not enough of the actual training/ mental aspect of the people involved. the fights were ok.

and one of the contenders actually commits suicide down the line.

9:30 is a weird hr to bring a new program in

sure there are other factors involved but i think as the stakes get more intense and more drama unfolds, the ratings are going to follow. and if it tanks, it is a first failure for Mark Burnett

Fox stole the idea from Burnett and NBC [lawsuit was filed and all]. they tried copying the same reality tv concept using that program with Richard Branston (Virgin CEO). he did a wacko Apprentice carbon copy, where a bunch of kids competed for a chance to be his apprentice and a million bucks. it tanked.

Fox needs to stick to American Idol/ the Swan and those type of ridiculous shows ...thats where they're good at reality tv-wise

i have a feeling the Contender still has a chance to make it.

i am sure the network'll bank on that drama ...sadly but those type of things draw ratings.

He's gonna hit big numbers with Martha Stewart though...
