"The outgoing Bolivian president, Carlos Mesa, and other leaders have warned of an impending civil war as a conservative senator prepared to become the next president of the conflict ravaged country. Hormando Vaca Diez has said a massacre could happen if radical groups opposed his presidency. Mr Vaca Diez is president of the Senate and next in line to be president after Mr Mesa's resignation on Monday." http://www.smh.com.au/news/World/Bol...?oneclick=true Not that anyone cares but I happen to be half Bolivian and my Dad along with more than half my family live in La Paz. Its kind of scary to think that civil war could be breaking out. If you've ever been to Bolivia you can understand why it would happen, the country is in shambles and there is a lot of injustice going on. Lets just hope this one gets resolved soon. :-\

| CoolJunkie | That's a serious problem that's going on there. In Panama there's a lot of turmoil because of the reforms the ruling party is doing to the Social Security System. But this Bolivian thing is really bad. We can only pray that nothing bad happens to your fellow bolivians and your family....

| The bigger picture is that this seems to be happening across South America. Alot of the countries there are having major problems. It's even scarier to think that a collapse of a continent can occur, would be hard, but with so many unstable countries in the region, something immense may happen. Let's hope for the best.

| It comes down to an uneven distribution of wealth. People in latin America and especially Bolivia have been held down for too long. Its only natural that there going to get fed up and want to take things back. Until the powers that be share some of this wealth this problem will continue to plague latin America for years to come. :-\

| fucking Indians, j.k This sucks, a friend of mine thats Bolivian told me that the country is split in 2 and they want the country separated. Sort of like the Czech republic. I was told that there's no national pride in Bolivia, pretty sad, I hope things work out.

[/quote] Well what I was told is that the Indian side wants to be a separate country also, and the white side wants to be part of Brazil.
