Largest cock fighting ring in US history busted

CNN reported today that a cock fighting ring in Tennesse was busted today by police who had to seize 300 rosters, arrest 140 people and confiscate over $40,000. The 140 people involved in the ring are facing up to a year in jail and a $2500 fine. How's that for losing a bet!!!

The size of this ring isn't shit I know.. When I was 17 years old and b4 I was much of an animal lover, my uncle had brought me to see a roster fight while I was visiting him in the Phillipines. The roster fight was a weekly event. The building was like a mini stadium. It held about 5000 people and there was a ring in the middle with plexi glass walls about 6 feet high surrounding it. Above the ring were lit up signs. One saying 'meron' meaning 'has' and the second sign said 'walla' meaning 'doesn not have'. Obviously the roster that was the favorite was put under the sign that says 'meron' (has)...But sometimes the people who handled the rosters would put the weaker of the 2 under the sign that said 'has' and the one that they thought was stronger under the underdog sign....

Before they did this though they let the rosters jump up and down in the ring to show the crowd the conndition and the relatve strength of the roster..

I picked the winning roster 17 times in a row and won my uncle close to a thousand US dollars. All becuz I picked the roster that can jump the highest. The roster that can jump the highest is the one with the advantage. It doesn't matter how big it is. If a roster is smaller but can jump higher he'll kill the other one without a doubt..

How horrible is that? I can't believe that I even took part of something like that. I'll always remember at the end when my uncle took me to the back of the arena were all the rosters were and I saw all the rosters that were hurt but the owners were going to nurse them back to health all so that they can come back one day and fight again...

That image will always stick with me for the rest of my life... :'(
