Regardless of whether the order is moral or not, it worked. Looting in Chicago stopped immediately. I think the order should be given. You loot, we shoot. I don't see how else they can maintain order at this point. Stealing postal trucks, shooting at rescue helicopters, taking police hostage, shooting at each other.....someone needs to take control. One thing I would point out, however, is that the police in Chicago did not fire one single shot. The order in itself stopped the looting.

Once there is some semblance of order restored to the city, authorities shooting or tazing looters would be permissible (not to kill). Prior to that, I fear giving citizens the ok to shoot would cause utter mayhem.
