Yep you heard it correctly! During an interview on CNN with Lt General Carl Strock (commander U.S Army Corp of Engineers) said that the Bush Adminstration was the one who cut funding for the flood control project proposed to strengthen the levies in N.O because they had to divert those funds to the Army corp of engineers in Iraq......

Dude... I so knew that already. Heck the guy hasn't airlifted anything into New Orleans yet... but damn they can send in people with M16's before they airlift in food. One single airlift yet?... no... people are starving yes... babies are starving yes... people are dying yes... is this a joke to America?

And what does our response to this disaster tell the Terrorists? Shows them how vunerable we are in dire situations...And how slow we to act...

What really surprises me is how deprived these people are in every way... damn... raping??? Where is American progressiveness... can do... and sense of humor u see in the movies all the time... why is such a large group of people acting third world? I have to admit... the racial element is all over this. Most of these people are black... African Americans. If America is such a great country... why is this happening? The underclass of America shows itself at this time... and its an ugly... festering wound. Suddenly this nation does not seem as strong as we would hope to believe... lead by images... lead by hollywood... and suddenly reality strikes. If it was LA, Miami, Cleveland.. and any of the numerous poor cities in america... the reality hits that the people would react the same way. Why would Americans be shooting at relief helicopters? Isn't something serious frocked up with the social structure of America? Why weren't social programs implemented to bring these people in?

It's really sad that there are those who exist that are taking advantage of the lawless-ness and chaos in N.O. They're not even concerned about their own survival. The sad reality of this is and the scary reality of this is, is this is how things would be if this was a country wide, no a world wide event!!! That's what's scary!!

You can't even depend on the local authorities and not even the military or the government to help you out....When shit hits the fan..the truth is..You are on your own!!!

True of everything, even Iraq. No wonder Americans are depressed.

You belong in France.

That is the weakest most pathetic sentiment that I have ever heard.

Newsflash::::The underclass is a festering wound b/c they are acting like disgusting animals. Period. This has nothing to do w/ the hurricane. If they are controlled by the military, police, etc. their true colors show.

What is sad is that people like that live in America and think they deserve what those of us who work have.

[/quote]Dude this has everything to do with the hurricane!! People are angry, hungry and desperate. You take a away a mans creature comforts and he comes an animal. On top of that, when a man thinks that he's not being helped when he's in dire need and knows that he can be helped, then the man becomes something else....

Just because you're poor doesn't mean that you're an evil person!! To call them a festering wound is just wrong!!

Newsflash Tres-B....!! If you were desperate for food and water i'm sure you'd be acting like animal tryinig to survive....!!!
