HISTORY Americas Largest Drum ‘n’ Bass event.

The first History was held on Sunday October 10th 2004 (Columbus Day weekend) at The World Famous Century Club. Grapevinez vision behind this event was to unify the Stateside Drum And Bass scene by having, for the first time ever, 4 arenas of drum and bass in a high-class venue that will allow 18+ patrons who would normally not be exposed to establishments of this caliber. Other event directors were invited to host their brand in each one of the four arenas. History would also for the first time capture all the styles of drum and bass under the same roof. United Drum and Bass, who brought forward their well-branded event, Bluebeat, hosted the sexy soulful side of this musical genre. The harder homegrown LA style was represented by Machete Media who hosted, The Kings of LA arena. Los Angeles’ premier and longest running weekly Respect hosted by the infamous Junglist Platoon were the hosts for the V.I.P area, which was 21+. The Main arena presented by Grapevinez featured UK headliners and A-list American drum and bass DJ’s and MC’s. The first History attracted over 1,200 patrons. History was truly made on a very special Sunday and is now regarded as the drum and bass event of 2004.

On Sunday Oct 9th 2005 (Columbus Day Weekend) Grapevinez returns with HISTORY America's Annual Drum and Bass Gathering.

HISTORY “The Next Chapter”

The theme and philosophy behind this event will remain the same while the party will be moved to a different venue. This year Grapevinez has discovered a real gem of a venue containing 5 rooms to accommodate the ever-growing Los Angeles Drum and Bass movement. The venue of choice is non other than the very highly prestigious, The Highlands, in the heart of Hollywood. located on the top tier of the Hollywood & Highland complex, this 25,000-square-foot, multi-story club features an expansive dance floor and seven bars. It also houses a separate restaurant with five dining areas. If that's not enough, there are three outdoor decks offering inspiring Tinseltown views from the heart of Hollywood to the shimmering skyline of Downtown . This club packs a lot of potential attracting weekend warriors from the 818 to the 714. For the first time ever, allowing 18+ With the right mix of dons and divas that gravitate here, the Highlands is “THE” ultimate nightlife destination.

The 5 Arenas

This year San Diego’s premiere drum and bass organization, 45psi and their well-established and respected event, The Rapture. Muse, established in 2001, will represent the sexy soulful side of drum and bass known as liquid. Muse are responsible for holding down Los Angeles’ longest running and most successful bi-weekly event. Production crew Zen One hold Orange County’s No. 1 Drum and Bass weekly, Adrenaline. They will be hosting their area with Adrenaline residents and their resident visual artist B.O.B. Although relatively new to event production, Grapevinez welcomes the crew from the San Fernando Valley, 818. After only one year this team of artists, Producers, promoters and Totally committed Drum and Bass fans have emerged to have one of the most vibrant and well anticipated events around. The 818 parties attract an audience from the virtually un-tapped San Fernando Valley and Hollywood, The 818 crew have packed the house to capacity at every party they have held since their introduction in July 2004. Grapevinez will host the main room which will host A-list UK headliners with premier American DJ’s, MC’s, stage performers and our resident visual mixers, Mekanix.

The Rapture
You can't tell the history of SoCal Drum n Bass without telling the story of The Rapture - San Diegos Premiere DnB Event. The Rapture burst onto the scene in the fall of 2002. Providing San Diego with high quality, high octane drum n bass events which always feature a booming sound system and the very best in international, domestic and local talent. In it's first 3 years, The Rapture has played host to the likes of: Andy C, Goldie, Dillinja, Bad Company UK, Ed Rush & Optical, Adam F, Dieselboy & Planet of the Drums, Friction and Pendulum (to name but a few) with each show being more legendary and unforgettable than the last. Please join us in honoring and welcoming The Rapture to its well-deserved spot in and at HISTORY!

Adrenaline
Adrenaline has been destined to be one of the area's top D&B clubs since its conception. From the beginning of Adrenaline, the Zen One crew has hosted quality Drum & Bass music every week by presenting local,national and worldwide talent to Southern California. The consistancy of quality nights at Adrenaline showscases much talent including such DJ's as Mampi Swift, Noisia, Nicky Blackmarket, Evol Intent, Silver and Shimon. This year Zen One crew will help to make 'history' in the stateside Drum & Bass movement by representing at this event with an all star line up of Adrenaline resident DJ's.
