A place to go before you hit up your final destination of the night. VINO just opened up on the beach. Those of you from the Grove may know this place well. It's a great little wine bar that took forever to open up on the beach. But it's here, and though it's had about 20 unofficial grand opening parties, here is the info for this Friday's grand opening with a wine tasting event. When it was still in the grove, the tastings usually ran about $25, so I guess the price increase reflects the move to their new home in South Beach (16th Street between Collins and Washington):

VINO Miami will have its GRAND OPENING EVENT this Friday Jan. 13th starting at 8pm.

The event will be headlined by a spectacular tasting event "Zin and Chocolates" hosted by VINO Mgmt and 4 wine experts and hosts from Premier Beverage Company. The tasting event will last from approximately 8pm-10:30 pm. We will Taste '10' different and Amazing Obscure and Boutique Red Zinfandels from some of the hottest vineyards in the world from California to Italy. Then VINO is ENHANCING your Tasting Experience by providing and pairing the Zins with Fine Chocolates - yes, the epitome of indulgence, All wines will be given special discounted pricing for that night so you may purchase the Zins you love.

Layout: Introduction - taste the first 5 with certain chocolates and commentary then a "mingling social intermission with low Jazz tunes" then back to tasting the last 5 - same format as the first. Following the tasting event will be the post tasting Grand Opening Wine Party.

Event cost: $40.00 - Please bring cash not credit cards for Event Costs; Tasting Sheets and pens will be handed out at door.

The event is already more than half booked by pre-rsvp's. So an RSVP is necessary.We need to have an accurate account for seating, wine and chocolate and we want to keep it prvate for our email subscribers only. Please do not rsvp unless you are certain you are joining us for the Grand Opening Tasting - space is limted as you know and the wines are very small production quantities.

You may send your RSVP to events@vinomiami.com. We will try and start sharply at 8:00 - 8:15. We have alot of wines to go through and you just can't rush Zins and Chocolates. So try and get there early!! :-) There is parking directly above us in the garage.

I really love this line, only in Miami is "sharply" associated with "try" and an approximate time range.
