What do you expect from someone who's idea of market research is skimming Seventeen Magazine for the latest pseudo-celebrity to host a club night?

MM, you couldn't wear Grutman's jock... By far the most succesful club person in Miami who doesn't own a club. Ask your boss Nickjunkie what he thinks of Dave. LP put miami on the dance muisc map, Dave is keeping Miami on the map with his celeb parties, along with his Morillo, Tiesto, Hernan parties...

Pod and Nick, rein your idiot teepee drawing guy in... He's making you guys look bad... (Then again Nick is british so he already looks bad)

That is funny. I'm sure grutman will get a laugh at it. MM you bring in some talent that nobody else does which is admirable in the club scene, but really it's been tried and tested before with the same result. Bringing acts like paolo mojo and relying on that alone to pack in a club with a few flyers and constant bumps on your own thread will not pack it in. Advice walk next door to sobe live and see what works and head in direction that will attract those customers. You wanna bring in house acts, go ahead but be sure to give your crowd something more then just good music. Not enough ppl go out for just that.

Grutman I forgot about the elisha night, but lord knows you bring in jess alba or scarlett johansson my memory will be better. And please on a saturday night where I can enjoy the music as well ;D

They're smarter than that... they'd look worse if they actually listened to you.

And about wearing Dave's jock... please... you'd have to be legally retarded to sink that ship. I'm not trying to take away from Dave's accomplishments... just putting them in perspective. Mainstream is easy to please.. that's why it's MAINstream. Good for them!

I appreciate the advice... but I'm not tyring to copy what anyone else does. I'm not trying to pack Mansion. All I give a shit about is the personal satisfaction of doing something different and exposing people to new music. May I have the liberty to pursue that on my own terms?

We had a hair over 400 people at Paolo Mojo and everyone had a great time. Even Saleen's party metrics were satisfied... hot chicks dancing, napkins thrown, and I think even a few fist pumps in the house. Not bad for a club with absolutely no reputation for house music to begin with. And we didn't achieve that with just "a few flyers and constant bumps on your own thread"... there was a lot of face-to-face street work and education going on. I had tons of hits to my site and all the Paolo sets I posted. Bottom line... I'm not after the mainstream market so I'm not resorting to mainstream promotions.

So... what was your point again?
