I was just wondering what the new word is on the24 hour ban.Is this something that is enevitable??What does this mean to our best club Space??I cant see Miami without there crowning jewel of nightlife, the terrace.Does anyone else think that this will kill EDM in Miami??It sure seems like it.. |

| Non Sufficit Orbis | The lady who proposed the rollback lost the election 2 weeks ago. This gives anyone who gives a shit a small victory, and some more time to plan a suitable response. The "inevitable" thing that I see is a ban on new permits, with existing license holders being grandfathered in. I don't see an out and out ban anytime soon.

| MegaJunkie | They won't change the laws any time soon, however the noise laws are county not city, so there is little space can do to keep it's patio open with all the noise. Lp has been quoted as saying " don't worry I have a plan" but won't reveal what the plan is. I don't think he has a plan at all it's really just a matter of fighting with the city and when the cops finally had enough they will turn the system off by force and Space will try and have a go at it without a true patio and it won't work. |

| Non Sufficit Orbis | Space's advantage with their patio has always been it doesn't face the condos going up. Noc's system has a clear shot and carries forever eastward. You can hear Space's until about where Captain Harry's is, then it fades to what I would consider an acceptable level. As of right now, I can pretty much guarantee there will be no more outdoor venues in the Downtown area. That is the one issue I see being forced onto the neighborhood.

| they can just build sound barriers on the rooftop that can fix this noise issue... i actually dont see what the big deal is.. of course making the patio a glass dome is impossible to do.. well its possible, but what human being in their right mind would want to spend all that money on that? Im sure the Space gods have had numerous companies bidding on this project as we speak. i am sure there is something space can do to keep the noise levels acceptable.... cheap. My friends visit me in Miami to go out to NE 11th street... they dont give a flying fuck about the Beach. Without NE 11st... they will start going to Vegas. The local politicians need to think about this shit closely and with an open mind... because if that strip gets closed down... i honestly think it's going to hurt the tourism industry. |

| Non Sufficit Orbis | It will hurt the tourism industry for the City of Miami, which is actually trying to get people to go to it, as opposed to merely being a cheap hotel community for Miami Beach. The Entertainment District has huge potential.

| MegaJunkie | Ok, you are Desmond Howard winner of the Heisman Trophy, your condo is across the hall from Donte Stallworth, WR for the Eagles, you just spent a fortune on your condo in downtown Miami, what is their "acceptable" noise level? UMMMM ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bass travels especially at night and when it gets colder it get worse. You can't stop bass, you can try but you can't. Ever notice your tv is louder at night, well the daytime noise drowns it out, but at night you hear everything. The subwoofer on my bose system wakes me up, but during the day you can't hear it. |

| That seems to be the issue i mean why would they want to kill the clubs in this area.Aside from the noise issue how do these clubs hurt them??If anything they do bring in money..In my opinion it seems like the clubs have taken away from the bum issue alot since couple of years ago you would tur down the street just past Space and there would be a makeshft camp site..Not that camping is bad... Also like Pod said there is extreme potential not just for the clubs but shopping, and resturaunts.I ean people could make serious money if they put there heads together...And realized what they have hear. |
