There were no headline Djs playing this Saturday and it was the third time within the past couple of weeks I couldn't get in due to a massive line outside.

Well, here's my take: I know Space has always been lax with their door policy--which is sometimes something i truly like. I like to head over there for great music, venue, and bartenders. BUT--i have stopped going there on any given Saturday due to the same issues. Getting in at a decent hour has become ridiculous---the crowds are terrible, and many just don't like to follow rules. There is no line half the time---just a mob of cattle. I don't mine lines as long as you know you are eventually getting in. But it's chaos over there---the door staff is likely overwhelmed. Always friendly when i've been there though. Problem is---it's Kiddieland---i think people are using fake id's...just to try and pass for 18 it looks like.....a high school party half the time. Kind of a little TOO casual and TOO much disrespect for my tastes. I wait for a special event so at least i don't wait in lines---i buy in advance. BTW---should have been at KARU-Y this Saturday---now THAT was a party and venue! The above is just my opinion---look forward to seeing others' take of recent

I agree---nothing like a night at Space. Been there more than anymore during my 1+ year here, and will miss it when i leave back to Chicago in a few months. My comments were simply about recent experiences there. But was there a couple of weeks ago----waited in the crazy lines----and once again, had a fantastic time 8)

u also have to realize that more and more Hip-Hoppers are going to Space now. I remember when they first started doing hip-hop ... it took a while for it to take off.. but i think it's safe to say, it's now the place to be for hip-hop now.. which is causing the place to get packed out.
