Kanye West at Bang

Hey Junkies I just read on Mtv.com that Kanye
West will be joining the Smashing Pumpkins at
Bang Music Festival this year. The Bravery and
The Riverboat Gamblers are also slated to play.

Unless they announce another good band or
Daft Punk, I won't be going. I'm not a huge
fan of The Smashing Pumpkins, and I absolutely
despise Kanye West. I'm not giving that no talent
idiot my money.

Why does the Bang info say that it's at Bayfront Ampitheatre? If that's true, I don't think you'll see too many dance acts. The ampitheatre is small and limited. Those of you who have gone to Ultra when they were at Bayfront will remember that the ampitheatre was the main stage. The reason that Ultra as well as GG and everyone else uses Bicentenial Park now is because the city won't allow large festivals at Bayfront anymore. It looks like Bang will be seriously down-sized for this year.

I guess maybe they're not expecting that many people
to show up Dade. I don't think they've done too well
the past two years, so maybe they decided to scale
back a bit. I think having Kanye West and The Smashing Pumpkins perform will bring in quite a crowd though.

I just saw the Pumpkins at the V Fest in Baltimore and they drew quite a crowd. I think the capacity of the ampitheatre is 7500. I have heard that they paid SP over $550,000. So the question is how do they intend to make $$?
