 |  REVIEW: Laurent Garnier @ Shine (w/ photos) Registered members do not see ads. Register or logon for a better view.  Monsieur Garnier summarily whipped Shine at the Shelborne into a frenzy last night. I think he played for 5 hours straight, pulling all kinds of tracks from his boxes of tricks. Such a diverse set! I heard Techno, Prog, Tech House, Funky House, and a few other sub, sub genres. Old and new classics alike. To top it off I guess he pulled out some dubby reggae to finish the night, but I had to leave before that unfortunately. I wish I hadn't now! The floor was packed with party people from all over the world. I heard a few different languages being spoken. The crowd was filled with industry people too. Laurent is truly a DJ’s DJ. Unfortunately I missed the other DJs, Stryke & Adam Singer, but I have a good guess they were superb. There was a great video memorial to the late Chad Summerlin playing on the screens all night too. I always meet great down-to-earth people at Shine. It’s an oasis in the midst of South Beach’s ego & attitude. They just keep bringing such top notch talent too. |  Re: REVIEW: Laurent Garnier @ Shine (w/ photos) I'm looking at the pics and wondering if it was more packed than it appears. I was expecting to see a mob scene in the photos but it seems rather light in terms of attendance. If that's the case, this town is crazy. Jon....what was the count?? |
