Last Saturday I went to a pool party over at the Sagamore with Playboy magazine and Chivas (Ricky Williams hosted). It was damn near as perfect a party as I have been to in Miami... Not for nothing, but the club scene here is pretty good and all but it can get booring.... especially when your an old man like me and have been doing it for .. ummm more than a few years.
Anyway, this particular pool party had a great vibe, lots of girls in bikinis and an open bar up in VIP. The only thing missing was GOOD MUSIC. The DJ played an eclectic mix of rap, 80's and house, which could have been good but just sounded... lost. This got me to thinking... why the hell aren't there people doing these on a regular basis with real DJs? This IS Miami and it seems the only time we get good pool parties is at WMC and the occasional one off. AND pool parties can bring out a much wider variety of crowd than the average SoBe club (imagine that.. South Beach without the thug life poster kids).
So heres the question... Why not do a monthly regular SoBe pool party with guest DJs at different venues?
Hmmm...
