the only issue is getting to ibiza

i have 2 weeks in spain with a study abroad program and im planning on makeing a little side trip myself to the island

anyone know when the opening parties are..my dates are may 4th - 18th!!

Valencia is the closest major mainland city to Ibiza followed by Barcelona. So if your trip is taking you to either of those cities, those are your best chances.

a round trip ticket to Ibiza from Barcelona will run you about $130. There is also a ferry, but it takes like 8 hours. The plane ride is your best option, just 45 min.

Rent a car if you can, it's worth it. you can hit all hit beaches and clubs no problem.

Just go to SpanAir or Iberia and by a ticket. www.spanair.com or www.iberia.com. Or you take the speed ferry across. I would suggest not buying your ticket till you get there because you can get a better deal at the airport or from an agent in Spain. You're getting there about a month before the opening parties they start happening in June. That shouldn't put you off of going though. Just being on the island is really special. I'll be there in September. Try to stay in Ibiza Town. If possible stay away from San Antonio (The West End). Oh, and its also really easy to miss your flight off the island. You just keep putting off getting to the airport. And Barcelona is the shit too. There is plenty for you to do there. To bad your not there for the Sonar Music Festival in June. Good Luck!

SONAR!!

I went in 2002. It was very cool. During the day the party is at the MACBA(Museo de Arte Contemporanea de Barcelona).WOW!!

At night the party is at a compound that was built for the olympics in 92'. HUGE!!!

I liked IMPULZ in Amsterdam (Busloo) better because it's more of a party, but SONAR is still incredible, although it's more geared toward the industry. I'd recommend both.
