I worked in the industry for a little (and not retail...) - and its just like it in the book and as you will see - on the screen.

I give it an A-

Overall really good and I would say worth owning/bootlegging

Very funny at times and well written. Meryl Streep gives a magnificant performance, right on point. The antagonist also does a great job. Anne Hathaway was eh IMO... I think she could have made the character much more likeable. And they could have had more runway scenes.

See, I thought that the Hathaway character was *supposed* to be "eh". She was not supposed to be likable. To me, she was not the hero of the flick, the Streep character was. A high-powered female executive trying to keep a major magazine and a whole indrusty moving forward. And she takes a chance on this little whiner (Hathaway) and was, eventually, let down.
