Kylie Minogue
Quote:
Sources say Kylie will reveal her plans, including a new album and concert details, at her 20th anniversary party in London early August.

Kylie Minogue's new album will not only be long-awaited but highly-anticipated also. The Australia native has tied a mutual contract with super producer Stuart Price to helm her record.

Kylie meanwhile, was reported working with Scottish producer DJ Calvin Harris whereby a song has been produced under the title "Ready". Beside Harris, Groove Armada and Hot Chip have apparently been invited to work on the album too.

Madonna
Quote:
Proven to be highly anticipated, Madonna's new R&B tune has leaked online along with its clip. "Candy Shop", a song featuring Justin Timberlake has found its way to video sharing websites but has since been retracted for copyright issues.

The song is said to be mixture of dance, pop and hip-hop sound. Madonna was heard chanting lyrics: "I'll be your one-stop candy shop/Everything that I got/I'll be your one-stop candy store/Lollipop/Have some more." and "Get up out of your seat, come on up to the dance floor, I got something to see. Come on up to the front, boy. I got I need candy in me."

Madonna's new album is expected to be dropped this November. She has employed R&B stream for this set by roping in producers Timbaland and Pharrell Williams. Pop sensation Mika is reported to have collaborated also.

I like Madonna's more electronic inspired sound better, it is more innovative than jumping back into the R&B/Hip Hop Sound, by her using Timbaland & Pharrels Beats, shes just another artist from the very many out there using that sound to make their career.

Eventhough the Madonna faithful will still go out there and support her, I just think over the past years she's been 1 step ahead of any pop singer out there but by her moving into this, she's just another artists that will lose her appeal due to doing what everybody else is doing.

i like her electronic stuff too...but let's not forget with Madonna, it is often who produces your music "breaks or makes your sound" - her last album had some great hits!

..in the case of Pharrell and Justin Timberlake, it might work out and sound very good. lately JT + Timbaland have been on fire and selling lots of records ....

JT is nothing without Timbaland, his 2 solo albums have been success due to Timbaland, just look at Timbalands history and you will see all the success he brought to Ginuwine,Aaliya, Missy Elliot, Nelly Furtado with her recent albums, the guy is a hit maker.

But what I am saying is that when you hear a produced Timbaland track you automatically know it was produced by him and samethign with Pharrell. Madonna will have success nomatter what but her sound will sound the same as the rest of the artists out there.

sure but let's not take it too far ....JT's success didn't happen overnight and he made smart moves by incorporating his sound and stamping his 'voice' with the likes of Timbaland, etc etc

same can be said about Missy Elliott, yet i still think her genius + Timbaland made great records. she was a hustler and it paid off!

Well I was sent a small clip of "Candy Shop". Big bass sound and you can tell its JT-Timbaland. Her voice seemed too high-pitched for me, but the sound quality of the clip was not the best. That track however is not scheduled to be the first released single.

Being a "Madonna faithful", I am highly anticipating this project, though. It probably wont top Confessions for me, as that was such a straight-up "electronic" dance record, but still.
It's projected for Oct 29th right now with yet another tour in '08. I need to start my "tour fund jar"

more on the new Madonna album

Quote:
Here is some info on the songs Madonna has reportedly been working on for her new album!

ALL tracks are in DEMO stages and unfinished. The Candy Store clip that leaked is an EARLY demo, and the song went through a dramatic change, apparently.

Here is the LATEST list of the 2007 RECORDING SESSIONS:

************************************************
************************************************
************************************************

01. Sleep Deprivation
02. Turn It Up
03. Going Down
04. Little Thang (feat Justin Timberlake)
05. It’s The Beat
06. Tight Fit
07. Black
08. Off The Hook (feat Timbaland)
09. Candy Store (feat Pharrell)
10. Eleven Minutes
11. Do I Care
12. Freelancer.34
13. U n M
14. Starlight
15. Hit It Hard
16. Got This Down Right

************************************************
************************************************
************************************************

Now, here is some additional info on the album:

*** SLEEP DEPRIVATION is a favorite by both Madonna, the producers and the label. VERY LIKELY to become a single. Apparently it’s ‘’revolutionary and fierce'’.

*** GOING DOWN has really raunchy lyrics, and it started as a joke. Timberlake worked on it with Madonna.

*** The rumored title PRETTY LITTLE THANG is in fact called LITTLE THANG and it includes a verse by JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. It’s a ‘’midtempo summer jam with a fresh beat'’

*** BLACK is the rumored track called WIZZLE, and it’s ‘’organic, crazy and it will rumble your worlds'’

*** The rumored track called THE BEAT GOES ON is actually called IT’S THE BEAT.

*** OFF THE HOOK is the Timbaland collaboration. Two were recorded, another one he’s saving for his next solo record. Single possibly, the executives loved it.

*** CANDY STORE probably WONT be on the record, along with HIT IT HARD and DO I CARE. Apparently, Madonna is ‘’over them'’.

*** FREELANCER.34 is ‘’very experimental'’ and still completely unfinished. Might become a sort of intro or outro to one of the songs.

*** U n M is another label favorite, supposedly it’s something very new for Madonna.

more info on Madge...

I'm totally excited.

Quote:
NEW YORK — "We just did Madonna's record," Timbo said, sitting in the "TRL" green room. "Me and Justin did the records" for the album, he continued, saying Madonna is almost done with the effort. "She's great. ... She's got a hot album. Her album is up there with Justin's album."

Tim says he and Justin wrote and produced 10 songs for Madge's LP, many of which will make the club jump.

"Ah, man," Tim gushed. "There's this one song, we taking it back to 'You must be my luck-eee starrrr!' ... Remember 'Ugly' by Bubba Sparxxx? I got a beat similar to that. The hook is no words. It's saying stuff named after coffee — all these different names for coffee — is the hook. ... The name of the song is 'La, La.' Pharrell did a hot one for her too called 'Candy Shop.' She's off the chain."

The production legend said there isn't a title for the opus yet, but he will be reconvening with the singer in September to finish it up.
