| Because these music fans also listen using portable players and computers, Matador and other labels include coupons in record packaging that can be used to download MP3 versions of the songs. Amory called the coupon program "hugely popular." Wow someone in the music biz with a brain... This makes a lot of sense.. |

I rather prefer the warm, full sound of vinyl ...with CDs you have a lot of clarity but the fullness that you hear on vinyl is lost-you lose certain nuances in the sound quality overall...besides, some songs just sound better with a little "popcorn"...like , a classic Aretha Franklin or Patti Labelle song...this is why when I play out, I carry at least one bag of vinyl in addition to CDs

| That's why vinyl is an aesthetic choice and not necessarily a technical one anymore. Of course, the big problem nowadays is engineers being forced by the labels to overcompress the tracks. Very few labels give the engineers and the artists the freedom anymore to properly produce and master music.

i'd love to see vinyl make a comeback... simply because now, every person and their mother can "AIR MIX" and get away with it... With Vinyl, it is the real deal. I have seen too many times, wannabe DJs recording their mixes a week before their gig and pretending to mix it at the club. - IT IS GETTING REDICULOUS. Of course the average clubber does not know this, but those deep in the music industry know this is happening and everybody seems to just turn their heads about it.

| The advantage of the "digital DJ booth" is that DJs can much easier play out their own material and edits quickly. For example, in the old days, if you came up with a track, and weren't near a vinyl plant, it could take some time to get it back for playback. Nowadays you can toss it on to your laptop or a CD and be done with it.
