DUSTBOWL

Some of you may or may not know that Meat Katie & Elite Force have decided to start a splinter project entitled Dustbowl. The first two debut tracks were featured on Mark's 'Sessions' mix compilation on Ministry of Sound in 2008 with the first EP due to be released on LOT49 in later this month. The Dustbowl project follows more of the techno/ tech-house side of their collaborative sound but by no means does this indicate a departure from breakbeat. Watch out for a pretty tasty breaks single lined up via shacks U&A label 'Dark & Deep' backed by a hefty techno-esque remix from those wonderful Brisbane tech funkers Hyperion.

The Dustbowl single is set for release late January but is available NOW exclusively through www.beatport.com

MEAT KATIE

BABYFACE
(mixed by Meat Katie)

The Babyface brand is a household name in China - they have clubs in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen as well as a notable recordings division. Meat Katie been smashing the sh*t out of parties in China for some time and was the first to bring them the tech-funk sound. Its no surprise then that he was asked to contribute a mix showcasing the trademark sound of Lot49. Without using any tracks which have previously featured on his other compilations, Mark proves the strength of the music passing through our doors whilst also mixing things up with new exclusive material available later in 2009.

Track Listing:

1. Sly Fidelity 'The white knight' (Christian j rmx)

DYLAN RHYMES

Co-owner are all round hell raiser has now (finally) got his flow on. 2009 is looking to be his biggest year to date with the next single 'I am sweet' is supported by cracking mixes from Lot49 fave's Hyperion, bassline wonder kids CTLZ, Tom Real wearing his tech house sombrero, US upstarts Cole & McCurry turning in a cracking tech-breaks number and last but not least Klaus 'Heavyweight' Hill shows us he can fidget with the best of them. This will be up on soundcloud in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.

DOPAMINE

We are very pleased to announce that the super talented Dopamine has joined our scruffy band of misfits. February will see the release of his debut release on Lot49 ' The Spunk EP' backed by a slamming remix from Vandal, and two bonus collaborative tracks one with Meat Katie (Nectahh) and the other with James Cocozza entitled Bogun (which FYI is Aussie for a kind of Townie). Don't fear he is certainly not leaving Title Fight (his label co-owned with Klaus) - he is just looking at another avenue to explore and we are delighted he has chosen lot49 as his home from home.

LEE COOMBS

Lee's album is well underway now and early 2009 will see a string of singles leading up to the 'main event' later in the year. We can't say much more than that right now, but if you want to join 'Lee Coombs tech-funk news & mixes' group on Facebook - don't let us stop you! He also has some free downloads that are well worth checking out.

PABLO DECODER

Things you need to know about Pablo: he is Spanish, he has large side burns and to say he is a character would be an understatement! He makes the dirtiest funk, has insanely broad taste and we like him so much, we signed him. A job made even easier by the fact that he moved his studio a few doors down from "Mark & Marv's Bull Ring studio" (same block as Christian J, Medicine 8, Alex Metric..... can you see the trend yet?)

Pablo's first single is ready and waiting comprising of the chunky electro sound of 'Zurich Boys' & techno influenced 'Turbo'. The E.P is due to drop late March 2009.

CAPTAIN MAGIC CAUGHT IN SEX ROMP SHOCKER!

By day Vandal is usually found tagging the Welsh valleys with his distinctive scrawl but by night he becomes something else altogether. Just a couple of toasted slices of his ma's Bara Brith and the transformation to Cardiff's local superhero Captain Magic becomes immediately apparent. So imagine our surprise when we received at Lot49 HQ a package containing a rather lewd "home" video - suggesting that "the Captain" has been up to a fair bit more than his hero status suggests!

WATCH THE VIDEO!

The original track comes in two distinctively different versions, the 'Original Tech mix' and the 'Original Filth mix'. The tech mix is a bouncing breaks cut, peppered with vocal edits, electro style stabs and a 'circus bells-esque' top line and is super energetic in every way. The filth mix takes a slightly darker tone, with an ominous grumbling analogue b-line and tight stuttering drums. The intensity of this mix is built up with layers of twisted FX which sit around the ever present 'captain magic' vocal. A great alternative to the tech mix.

The single is baked by a cracking Rudi Stakka (Will Bailey from Twocker) techno remix and San Francisco's finest wonky house purveyor Worthy (from the legendary Dirtybird sound system) who has added another twist to this solid underground banger.

Vandal's album is also still in the pipeline and should get finished soon
