Default WHOVILLE! @ LOVE + AFTERHOURS w/guest DJ TRUE :: 5/20

a waterfall
fake fur walls
funhouse mirrors
giant blinky things
live performances
cushioned cubbyholes
interactive art installations
mindblowing LED light sculptures
huge projection screen with trippy visuals
a cave-like bar serving free candy, nuts, and fruit

Interested? You can have it all... AT ONCE!!!

Whoville! returns to LOVE on Saturday, May 20th, with DJ Adam Goldstone and special guest DJ True (ALMA NYC, Deeper Than Disco Radio) spinning underground dance music from 11pm till well after sunrise.

Themed loosely around Dr. Seuss' trippy, surreal, childlike aesthetic, Whoville! is a playground for the ears, eyes, and spirit that blends cutting-edge underground dance music with mind-expanding interactive art and performance — reconnecting the broken links that made legendary nightspots like Paradise Garage, Area, the Pyramid Club, and Jackie 60 so much more than just places to dance. An all-night journey across the universe of underground sounds, from deep to tech; electro to soulful; vocals and tracks; Garage/Loft/Choice/Factory classics to the classics of tomorrow. You know — the way we used to.

Adam (who many underground heads know from his releases and remixes for such respected labels as Nuphonic, Compost, and Irma) is excited to welcome DJ True (ALMA NYC, Deeper Than Disco Radio), who will be playing a special Whoville! journey for us.

LOVE's sound system is simply the best in the city, complete with an audiophile-quality DJ booth that allows Adam and his guests to create dancefloor magic. It'll knock your socks off, believe that!

Need a break from dancing? The rest of the club offers interactive art installations; a cave-like bar (serving free candy, nuts, and fruit); and a psychedelic, muy Seuss-ian chillout room, complete with cushioned cubbyholes, fake fur walls, funhouse mirrors, and a waterfall. This month, we're very excited to feature a collection of mindblowing LED light sculptures by Spec, of Burning Man's Disorient and ImageNode crews. If you like giant blinky things (including a giant, ten-foot-tall volume meter that moves along with the music on the dancefloor), you'll love Spec's light art.

Best of all, the club really exists for the love (ahem) of the music. The staff is friendly, the drink prices are reasonable, and the vibe is all about the party. There's no models 'n' bottles bullshit here—just a cozy wonderland for dancing, socializing, and making friends.
