The brilliant Derrick May and Francois K, better known as the “Cosmic Twins” when performing together, will grace Miami with the best in minimal Funk, Electro, dirty Tech-House & funky Techno this summer of 2009.
Derrick May is one of the founding fathers of Detroit techno. His aestethic, skeletal, melancholy style gained him the nickname of "the Miles Davis of techno. May sponsored the single Let's Go by X-Ray, that introduced the hypnotic, repetitive electronic figures of techno, and then recorded Nude Photo (co-written by Thomas Barnett) (Transmat, 1987), credited to Rhythim Is Rhythim, one of the records that started the Techno revolution world-wide”.
Francois K's career as a remixer and producer led him to work or collaborate with many more mainstream artists, such as Eurythmics, Diana Ross, U2, Kraftwerk, Mick Jagger, The Cure, Bunny Wailer, The Smiths, Pet Shop Boys, and culminated in his involvement in mixing all of Kraftwerk's 1986 studio album, Electric Café.
