Open Table has done a good job of getting many of the top local restaurants to join their online reservation system. Just wondering how many of you use it. I think it's great, especially since I don't have to look up the phone number, or call only to get an answering machine.

Of course, there are issues such as the JMT - 8 1/2 fiasco. But otherwise what's your opinion?

I like the idea, but I rarely use it.

I did use it for dinner at Social Miami last week. One thing I noticed that sucks, though, is when I tried to adjust the amount of people in my party, it wouldn't let me keep the same time. I had to pick another available time. So I decided against adjusting my reservation.

I think, other than last week, I've only used OpenTable to make reservations once before. I guess I like being able to speak to someone on the phone. But then again, OpenTable offers perks for making reservations with them.

that one time was my first experience with it.

i'll try it again, i think it's a great tool in theory, but i would never trust it. a follow up call, or just a call in the first place is the still way to go.
