This was a restaurant that ALL of us could agree on. Mark’s South Beach is located in the Hotel Nash, obviously on South Beach. To start things off, I had myself a glass of wine. They had a Miami Spice wine special on a glass of Rioja and/or Chardonnay. So I had a glass of Chardonnay to complement my meal. For my appetizer, I ordered the Southern Comfort Smoked Baby Back Ribs with Apple, Raisin & Celery Root Slaw and Crispy Onion Rings. Man oh man, I wish I had a half slab of these ribs instead of a couple. They were finger licking good! And the slaw was really interesting in that it was shredded apples in place of shredded cabbage. And the crispy onion rings added a perfect final touch. They were some damn good onion rings! It’s too bad this was an appetizer sized portion, as I could have easily have done a dinner size portion! For my entrée, I had the Sauteed Bell And Evans Chicken Breast with Tomatoes, Spinach & Gorgonzola and White Bean Cakes. The chicken was very good. The spinach & melted gorgonzola came on top of the sautéed chicken with the tomatoes beside it. Made for a very nice flavor combination. The white bean cakes were served as a side. I felt they were a bit dry for my taste, though. For dessert, I had to go with the Crème Brulée. Past experience has taught me that when faced with either a chocolate dessert or a crème brulée, its in my best interest to pick the crème brulée or face disappointment. Well, the crème brulée at Mark’s South Beach was good, but I have had better. Guess I've been spoiled when it comes to that. The most memorable part of this meal for me was the appetizer and the chicken. I’d recommend checking out Mark’s South Beach. No complaints with the service. And it was a great deal for Miami Spice. I enjoyed my time there. Mark’s South Beach (at Hotel Nash) 1120 Collins Avenue Miami Beach, FL 305.604.9050
