For hip-hop fans, the summer means more than just fun in the sun, it means that some of their favorite artists could be coming by their respective cities to perform live. One of the biggest hip-hop shows this summer is once again Rock the Bells, and even though they're not stopping by Miami this year (which has fans in the city calling 'bullshit'), it is still doing well in other markets. This year they’ve had to drop some of their usual destination, yet another sign of the recession, or a sign that Miami's music scene is at a standstill.
However, for the few cities that do get a chance at being a part of the festival, they’ll be pleased to hear that Nas and Damian Marley have teamed up once again, and they’ve started to preview music off of their soon to be released, “Distant Relatives” album. Although there is no release date set as of yet, it’s pretty safe to say that the majority of the tracks that they’ll be playing together this summer will be off of the album.
