It was a sad sad day in the music world yesterday, as Phil Spector was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of actress Lana Clarkson. Although, justice was ultimately served, it’s extremely disturbing to know that one of music all-time great producers and engineers was capable of such a heinous crime. Back in February of 2003, Clarkson died of a gunshot wound at Spector’s Los Angeles mansion. Later, Spector was tried for the murder in September of 2007 but later it was concluded as the jury couldn’t come to a final verdict. The 69-year-old Spector, creator of the infamous ‘wall of sound’ technique, now faces at least 18-years in prison and will be sentenced on May 29th.
