If there’s one singer that’s been underestimated since his debut album, it has to be Scottish born Paolo Nutini. Mega single hits like Last Request, Jenny Don’t Be Hasty, and the commercial hit New Shoes put Nutini on the map, but it didn’t really seem to catapult his career. His debut release, These Streets, received a considerable amount of praise, and definitely got the world noticing his vocal ability, however, many thought that the production wasn’t where it should be for him to get to that next level. On June 1st he released his second album, Sunny Side Up, and its given Nutini the swagger of a seasoned veteran.
CJ was lucky enough to catch Nutini live in London, and we have to say, he’s one hell of a live performer with pipes that could match any artist coming out of Motown in the 60s. This Monday night he’ll be performing live at Culture Room and even if you haven’t heard him play before, we suggest checking out his myspace, listening to a few tracks, and attending the show. If you’re a fan of good music, we’re pretty damn sure that you’ll leave a fan.
