After much anticipation, Miami's own Oscar G presents the release of his live CD/DVD set, recorded, of course, at Space.
The CD itself is an 80-minute snippet of one of Oscar's nights at Space in Downtown Miami. Distilling over ten hours of DJing into an 80-minute package was a challenge, Oscar reveals, but from a listen, he seems to have risen to, and conquered. On this disc, Oscar continues his support of all things Miami, with the bulk of the tracks being from locals such as Stryke, Cue, Christian Falero, Charlie Solana, Ralph Falcon, and DMS12.
The true gem in this package is the DVD. Often, a DVD of a club night or a DJ set essentially is the CD audio with semi-coordinated visual elements, or at worst, a stationary camera with the obligatory fisheye lens pointed at the DJ for two hours.

Fortunately, for this compilation, director David Orth chose to combine the live set, complete with synchronized crowd footage (i.e. the people are dancing to the actual song), and split-screen interviews with local club luminaries such as Alan T, Stryke, Biz Martinez, Roland, Emi Guerra, and owner of Space, Louis Puig, each providing commentary and anecdotes on Oscar, and life at Space.
The dialog by these subjects, combined with some riotous outtakes in the 'Extras' section, provides an insight into a night with Oscar on the decks, along with an insight into the machine that is Space.
Oscar G will be at Space celebrating the release of his latest work on Saturday, October 20th. Get more details by clicking here.
