Clubplanet Acquires CoolJunkie.com

Leading NYC and Miami Nightlife Websites Join Forces

New York, NY – February 7, 2005 - Clubplanet.com, the world’s biggest nightlife resource, has acquired CoolJunkie.com, a leading nightlife website based in Miami.

Launched in Miami in November 2000, CoolJunkie.com has grown into one of the leading music and lifestyle sites in the U.S., providing music, nightlife, fashion and movie news for a hip young crowd of tastemakers and trendsetters. Founder Nick McCabe and his partners eventually launched sites for 11 U.S. cities, including New York and Los Angeles.

Clubplanet CEO and co-founder Andrew Fox said, “In four short years, Nick built CoolJunkie up, with no venture capital, to be Clubplanet's biggest competition in the South East region. We are very lucky to have him.”

CoolJunkie.com joins Clubplanet’s other sister sites: Wantickets.com, NewYears.com, and ClubTelevision.com.

About Clubplanet
Clubplanet is the world’s leading nightlife destination online. Clubplanet provides its users with access to the largest nightlife community and a comprehensive listing of clubs, bars and lounges in over 55 markets. Clubplanet users can also explore nightlife, music and entertainment through exclusive features, interviews and videos.

Since 1995, Clubplanet has built up a membership base of 2 million + with new members joining everyday. Clubplanet members enjoy the added benefits of being able to purchase advance tickets and get on club and event VIP guest lists, as well as, participating in message boards and viewing photo galleries.

Promotional Opportunities

The Clubplanet brand appeals to trendsetters and early adopters, a demographic that has been traditionally hard to reach. The Clubplanet brand has built a loyal following with this group by tapping into their nightlife and lifestyle interests. This group has a high disposable income and relies on Clubplanet’s resources to provide them with the latest trends and offers. Partners tap into this loyalty through both online and offline opportunities, from traditional online advertising and email marketing to event sponsorships and loyalty programs.

Clubplanet syndicates its content such as guestlist services and venue listings to online properties which include Yahoo Local and City Search and major brands utilize Clubplanet’s content for syndication in their programs. Examples where this content has truly enriched a program include Absolut Access, Bacardi PartyByNight.com and Vindigo’s palmtop city guides.

CoolJunkie LA Launches

LOS ANGELES - Acclaimed Miami Beach-born entertainment website CoolJunkie.com has now expanded to make CoolJunkie Los Angeles its sixth city.

http://www.cooljunkie.com/los_angeles

Angelenos will now be able to do what the über-cool of Miami’s notorious South Beach have been doing for the last four years; logging on to www.CoolJunkie.com to find the best of what’s going on every night of the week.

Highly regarded for their ability to cut away the lame and tame, to focus on the hippest and hottest in Miami and their other cities, the CoolJunkie team and their latest member, LA point-man, Julian Leuthold, have been hard at work to do the same in LA, from the mainstream all the way down to the underground.

With its launch, it promises to keep an unwavering eye on the clubs, promoters, DJs, art galleries, fashion designers, festivals, and everything fun so that locals and the nation can see at a glance what’s happening in LA.

Since its start in 2000 CoolJunkie has expanded to six cities (with six more on the way) and grown to a level of international renown that has attracted the eye of the BBC’s Radio 1, Elle Magazine, Muzik Magazine (UK), The Guardian (UK), and the Manhattan User’s Guide.

Earlier this year, CoolJunkie.com was nominated for the coveted Dancestar Award for best website - the dance music community‘s highest honor.

CoolJunkie partner Sarah Dawson says, “We feel that this is due to our commitment to provide an insiders guide to the best nightlife and entertainment each unique city has to offer.'

CoolJunkie are poised to spread that dynamic to every major social scene in America with Europe soon to follow.

CoolJunkie.com provides…
Frequent columns by popular, local social scene writers
Club and bar reviews with updated listings
Musician & DJ interviews
Music reviews
Photo galleries of the latest, most outrageous night spots
Local and national message boards
Fashion news and tips
Movie reviews
Feature articles of national and local interest
Suggestions for the weekend

…in each of these metropolitan areas…

Los Angeles | Miami | New York | Chicago | Philadelphia | San Juan (Puerto Rico) | San Francisco

…with these cities on the way:

| Las Vegas | Washington DC | Atlanta | Detroit | London

Spin Off 2004 Winner Announced

MIAMI -- The MTV Video Music Awards vowed to 'party in the city where the heat is on' and Miami nightlife culture responded in force. Miami dance music and television pop music shared the stage on Saturday at the enormous 25,000 square foot night club Space, where the climax of the night was the Final of the CoolJunkie 2004 DJ Spin Off, an annual amateur DJ competition.

The American Idol of the dance music scene, the competition thrusts bedroom DJ's into the spotlight at world-famous night clubs like Crobar in South Beach and Space in Downtown Miami. Three amateurs remained Saturday as the competition moved from the 3 heats at celebrity hotspot VIP room at Crobar to the final in front of an intimidating crowd at Space.

The three finalists Scott Nelsen, Rocky Castro and DJ RC played in front of a crowd of over 1000 electronic music lovers and were judged by a panel of South Beach music industry professionals who included DJ's Oscar G, Cedric Gervias and Michael Louis, No Cover TV host David Orth, music journalist Mike Hamersly and CoolJunkie owners Nick McCabe & Sarah Dawson.

It was an extremely tight competition as Rocky Castro claimed first place, spinning a blistering set of house music which started off in style with the Eric Prydz remix of 'In&Out'.

Rocky says:

'I couldn't be happier about winning. This year's Spin Off was very competitive and harder than I ever could have anticipated. It means a lot to have been given a chance in such a competitive industry by such a respected name as CoolJunkie.com.'

Rocky is a South Beach native who is a fitness director and gym addict by day. He is married with a baby on the way.

DJ Spin Off Final 2004

Spaced In - 08/29/04

The party definitely was not over after Club Row's noisy block party mercifully bowed at 10 Saturday night. The ever-solid Club Space welcomed revelers ready for the real deal as soon as workers began breaking down the street stage.

Clubbers were in for a double treat at Space; they could choose to chill out in the hip-hop room or check out the very cool CoolJunkie.com DJ Spin-Off finals in the main room from midnight to 3 a.m.

Either way, it was business as usual for Space, as the club pumped up the volume and pumped up the crowd with nonstop banging house music. The VMAs seemed nonexistent this night, maybe not such a bad thing.
