Shine is the brainchild of Jon Cowan. Jon, whose family owns the hotel, has served as music director the hotel, and was part owner of Nerve. Jon also runs Bliss Productions, which has staged many large events at venues such as the legendary Groove Jet, Space and Crobar, while hosting events locally for world-class brands such as Cream, Renaissance and Ministry of Sound.

The Lobby Lounge features international music by Producer/DJ's Junior O on Fridays and B-Side Saturdays. The Lounge at the Shelborne plays international sounds from ambient to jazz, including reggae, house, hip-hop, 80s retro,romantic techno and International chill-out based Mash Up format. Redroom which is organized around a deep red glowing of light and a red lacquered teak floor, the Redroom is a juxtaposition of modern and eclectic furniture from a lacquered steel pool table to French Antique Napoleon III slipper chairs covered in silk.

The Redroom Garden is conceived as an outdoor living room, the 2,500 sq.foot central area is tropically landscaped with colorful perennials, bougainvillaea and passion flowers in painted oversized pots and adorned with an eclectic mix of furniture from the Orient.

The Rumbar is centrally located between the pool, the Rum Bar, serving 75 different rums, is surrounded by white sheer curtains creating an intimate space and backdrop for the potted climber plants.

The Sandbar is in its own private setting, lending itself to smaller private parties and being barefoot in the sand away from the beehive of activity, the bar is comprosed of woven rattan armchairs, stools and side tables. Magical iron lanterns illuminate the space glittering within the landscape.

There is also an small bar area which gets very busy later on at night with people dancing. The area has a real grass floor and the whole place is jasmine scented.
